About Sophia
Sophia is an editor for Boundby, and loves being part of a team supporting unpublished poets! Her travels often make their way into her writing from teaching in South Africa to many family adventures in Egypt and around the world; the experiences of other cultures and foods and environments are her favourite inspiration. She is currently an Account Executive for a B2B and PR agency, which keeps her very busy and is developing my writing in new ways, but she still always makes time for her poetry and short stories on the side!

I am part of the editing team who have the honour of reading all the wonderful submissions the magazine receives and the challenge of having to narrow them down!

We are all so very unique and yet it can be all too easy to follow trends and patterns and replicate what we enjoy. Whilst the best writers steal, they do so while adding, adapting, fundamentally changing that work. I would like to see more people write what only they can write – I find this a tricky but good challenge for myself too!

Remembering the reasons why we write is crucial, in my opinion, for self-motivation, whether it is about understanding yourself or the world around you better, expressing unique ideas, or being a source of humour! There is a reason we turn to writing and I believe it is important we keep it in mind to support our writing processes.
