About Jáde
Jáde is a poet inspired by niche, authentic taboos and experiences. Her work often explores vulnerability, identity and the emotional nuances that hide in everyday moments because there is nothing more comforting than embracing discomfort. As an English Literature and Creative Writing student and Boundby team member, she deeply enjoys sharing and consuming poetry as both a passion and pastime. She is always excited to connect with others through art and contribute to communities that celebrate raw self-expression.

At Boundby, I am part of the marketing team, where I help manage our social media and digital presence. I help to create and schedule Instagram posts, promote submission periods and new editions, brainstorm content ideas and support our visual branding. It is a fun role that allows me to blend creativity with communication.

I would love to see more poetry that takes risks. I personally stand by the idea that the most memorable poems are often the ones that say those quiet things in life aloud or explore emotions we do not usually give ourselves permission to articulate.

Be honest even when it feels awkward, as Yrsa Daley-Ward’s poem called ‘untitled 1’ from bone encourages:
“If you’re afraid to write it,
that’s a good sign.
I suppose you know you’re writing the
truth when you’re terrified.”Read as much as you write because the exploration of other voices helps you better understand your own.
