About Emma

Emma joined the Boundby team in autumn last year. Since graduating with an English Literature degree from Warwick, she now works in the editorial department of an independent book publisher in Central London. Unsurprisingly, she loves reading and exploring a range of genres, but poetry has always been particularly special and evocative for her. Outside of all things literary, you’ll most likely find her walking around with her headphones on and an overpriced iced latte in hand.

  • I initially joined Boundby as an Editor, but my role has since expanded to focus more on the marketing side of the magazine. This includes creating eye-catching graphics and posts for our social media, with the broader goal of increasing visibility and reaching a wider audience.

  • All the submissions I have read so far have been incredible, but I have particularly loved poems that blend raw, honest reflections with playful, experimental forms. One of the things I love most about Boundby is that it truly lives up to its name – unbound by convention, you can never be too creative here. Take risks.

  • Take inspiration from the mundane! So much of what we overlook as ordinary actually holds an innate poeticism just waiting to be noticed and expressed. Poetry doesn’t have to be loud or grand to be meaningful; it can be found everywhere, if you’re willing to look. Trust your instincts.
